Terms of service

New Business Signals provides ranked interpretations of public records for business research. The service does not guarantee that a record is accurate, that a business is operating, or that a company intends to purchase any product or service.

Owner and officer records

When available, the service matches City of Chicago license accounts to owner, officer, member, manager, or legal-entity names published in the City of Chicago Business Owners dataset. A published name or title does not prove current ownership, decision authority, a personal contact method, or interest in receiving an offer. You must verify the official record and determine whether outreach is appropriate.

Acceptable use

You must verify records independently and comply with all applicable privacy, advertising, telemarketing, anti-spam, discrimination, and consumer-protection laws. You may not use the service for harassment, deceptive outreach, unlawful profiling, or decisions involving eligibility for employment, housing, credit, insurance, or other regulated benefits. You may not use published owner records to infer sensitive personal characteristics or to impersonate the City, the business, or the named person.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions renew until canceled. Billing and cancellation are managed through Stripe. Unless required by law, charges for a completed billing period are non-refundable. Access may be suspended for failed payment, abuse, security risk, or material breach.

Data and availability

Public datasets can change, be delayed, contain errors, or become unavailable. Scores are heuristic and may change as the methodology improves. Owner records may be missing for some accounts or may identify a role that is not the current operating decision-maker. The service is provided without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability, owner-match coverage, contactability, or sales results.
